Directions to/from the airport

In order to reach downtown Athens from the Athens International Airport (AIA) "Eleftherios Venizelos" you have three options:

Metro trains (operating daily from 6.30 until 23.30): Metro trains departure from the airport every 30 min. Line 3 connects the airport to the city center of Athens. The trip lasts about 40 min. Closest station: Megaron (Athinais, Airotel Alexandros, Airotel Stratos Vassilikos), Evangelismos (Best Western Ilisia), Syntagma (Amalia). The one-way ticket costs 10 euros, Metro tickets must be purchased and validated before boarding the train.

Bus service (24/7 operation): Express bus routes connect directly Athens with the airport. Buses depart from the Arrivals Level (outbound trips from airport). Bus tickets are sold at the info/ticket-kiosk (located outside the Arrivals between Exits 4 and 5), or onboard (ask operator) at no extra cost. The price of the ticket (one-way) is 6 euros. Bus line X95 Syntagma - Athens Airport Express reaches the Syntagma Square at Athens city center. The trip lasts approximately 60 min. depending on the traffic conditions. Closest station: Mavilli Square (Athinais, Airotel Alexandros, Airotel Stratos Vassilikos), Ilisia (Best Western Ilisia), Syntagma (Amalia).

Taxi: There is a flat rate for using a taxi from/to the airport and Athens city center. During day time it is 38 euros, during night time (from 00:00-5:00) it is 54 euros.

Directions to the Department of Mathematics

In order to reach the Department of Mathematics at the University Campus (called Panepistimioupolis), in Ilisia, we suggest the following means of transportation:

Use the metro (Blue line) to reach "Evangelismos" station. There you change to bus line 250 (which enters the University campus) and stop in bus stop: Mathematics Department.

Note: bus 250 does not operate during the weekend. Use one of the bus lines 608 or 230, and walk 5 min towards the University Campus.
